Traditional Cusco + Inca Trail 8 Days / 7 Night

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO CUSCO (CITY TOUR CUSCO + NEARBY RUINS)

Upon arrival in Cusco, reception and transfer to the hotel. We will provide you the information about the trips we will make. At 12:30 hours, we will pick you up at your hotel to visit the KORICANCHA or Temple of the Sun, the main religious center of the Incas; then we will visit SACSAYHUAMAN (a great Inca fortress located 5 km from the city), QENQO (sacred amphitheater and worship center to the god Puma, a place where human sacrifices were made), PUCAPUCARA (“red fortress” due to the hue of the rocks with the twilight light) and TAMBOMACHAY (temple to worship the water). We will finish the tour at approximately 18:00 hours. Transfer to the hotel.

DAY 2: SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS TOUR (B-L)

We will pick you up at your hotel at 8:00 am. We are going to visit the spectacular Sacred Valley. First we will see a fascinating Inca market at Pisaq which is a good place to buy gifts. Then we will visit the spectacular ruins of Pisaq. We will pass for different sites like Coya, Lamay, Calca, Urubamba, in this place we will have a delicious lunch. After lunch we will visit the ruins of Ollantaytambo archaeological site which is a real sample of Inca Architecture. On the way back to Cusco we will visit Chinchero Village and enter to San Pedro Church. We will end the tour in the main square of Cusco. Transfer to the hotel.

DAY 3: CUSCO – HUAYLLABAMBA (B-L-D)

After breakfast, at 6:00 am. we will pick you up at your hotel and we’ll travel by bus to km. 82 the starting point of the trek. Here we will meet the porters and our cook. Today we’ll walk 15 km. approximately enjoying beautiful scenery and views of the mountains along this amazing Inca trail. We’ll see the magnificent snowcapped Mount Veronica (5,682 m.a.s.l.). In the afternoon we’ll camp at Huayllabamba.

DAY 4: HUAYLLABAMBA – PACAYMAYO (B-L-D)

After breakfast we’ll continue walking towards the first pass the Dead Women’s Pass (Warmiwañusca 4,200 m.a.s.l.) he highest point of the trek where there is a spectacular view of the valley below. On the route we’ll see different native plants and strange animals. Then the trail descends to the beautiful Pacaymayo Valley. We will camp along the Pacaymayo River at the bottom of the pass.

DAY 5: PACAYMAYO – WIÑAYHUAYNA (B-L-D)

After a delicious breakfast, we will continue the hike towards Runku Rakay, the second pass (3,800 m.a.s.l). Then we will descend to Sayacmarca, a beautiful Temple on the Inca Trail. Also we’ll have a splendid view of the snowcapped mountains, in this place we will have the lunch. Then we will spend the night near the ruins of Wiñayhuayna, where we’ll have dinner, in this place you can buy cookies, candies and beers.

DAY 6: WIÑAYHUAYNA – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO (B)

Today we’ll begin early and walk towards the sun gate (Intipunku) from where we’ll see spectacular views of Machupicchu opening up to us through the clouds. Then we’ll continue to Machupicchu to watch the sunrise and spend two hours there the guide will explain the significance of important sites within the lost city of the Incas. In the afternoon we’ll go to Aguas Calientes Town for lunch and take the train back to Ollantaytambo and take the bus to Cusco. Accommodation night.

DAY 7: FREE DAY (B)

You have the day off, you can learn more about the city, buy handicrafts or enjoy Peruvian gastronomy.

DAY 8: DEPARTURE DAY (B)

After breakfast transfer to the airport.
