Salt Mines of Maras and Moray Tour
The tour starts with pick-up at your hotel between 8:30 and 9:00 am. then we will depart by bus to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, on our way to Moray (3200 m.), we will pass the bucolic field, where you can find the small family farms of corn. Then we will have time to explore the Inca ruins of Moray, an agricultural laboratory that includes a set of concentric circular terraces, in each terrace there are different microclimates, each one representing an altitude difference of 1000 M. under normal growing conditions. The guide will give us details about the construction, design and use of the site.
Our next stop will be in the Minas de Sal de Maras, located 40 kilometers from Cuzco in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, these mines are constituted by some 3000 wells of extremely salty water, which runs through the various wells, so when the water evaporates, salt formations remain, ready to be treated and consumed. After this guided tour, we will board the return bus to Cusco.
