Inca Trail to Machupicchu 4 Days / 3 Nights
The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is considered one of the most beautiful treks in the world, it is perfect for lovers of walks, you can enjoy four magnificent days in which we will pass through different altitudinal floors, beautiful landscapes of mountains and jungle, we will have the opportunity to appreciate a variety of flora and fauna native to the region, such as the cock of the rocks, the spectacled bears, birds and orchids, along the way we will visit archaeological complexes of the Inca culture such as: Runcurakay, Wiñayhuayna, Puyupatamarka and one of the wonders of the world Machupicchu.
Itinerary
Day 1: Cusco – Huayllabamba
In the morning at 6:00 am. we will pick you up at your hotel and we’ll travel by bus to km. 82 the starting point of the trek. Here we will meet the porters and our cook. Today we’ll walk 15 km. approximately enjoying beautiful scenery and views of the mountains along this amazing Inca trail. we’ll see the magnificent snowcapped Mount Veronica (5,682 m.a.s.l.). In the afternoon we’ll camp at Huayllabamba.
Day 2: Huayllabamba – Pacaymayo
After breakfast we’ll continue walking towards the first pass the Dead Women’s Pass (Warmiwañusca 4,200 m.a.s.l.) he highest point of the trek where there is a spectacular view of the valley below. On the route we’ll see different native plants and strange animals. Then the trail descends to the beautiful Pacaymayo Valley. We will camp along the Pacaymayo River at the bottom of the pass.
Day 3: Pacaymayo – Wiñayhuayna
After a delicious breakfast, we will continue the hike towards Runku Rakay, the second pass (3,800 m.a.s.l). Then we will descend to Sayacmarca, a beautiful Temple on the Inca Trail. Also we’ll have a splendid view of the snowcapped mountains, in this place we will have the lunch. Then we will spend the night near the ruins of Wiñayhuayna, where we’ll have dinner, in this place you can buy cookies, candies and beer.
Day 4: Wiñayhuayna – Machupicchu
Today we’ll begin early and walk towards the sun gate (Intipunku) from where we’ll see spectacular views of Machupicchu opening up to us through the clouds. Then we’ll continue to Machupicchu to watch the sunrise and spend two hours there the guide will explain the significance of important sites within the lost city of the Incas. In the afternoon we’ll go to Aguas Calientes Town for lunch and take the train back to Ollantaytambo and take the bus to Cusco.
